Bethany Joy Galeotti did a short interview with Sophia Bush recently posted on her official blog, called “20 Questions With Sophia Bush”, check it out below:
1. Were You Named After Anyone?
I was named after Sophia Loren. My father is a photographer, and when I was born he was frequently doing photoshoots with her. Both of my parents adore her, and loved her spunk, elegance, and unique femininity. Plus it’s a very traditional Italian name. They wanted to honor my heritage, and inspire those qualities in me. I loved hearing as a child that I was named after such a special lady.
2. Do You Like Your Own Handwriting?
Actually, I’m not really a fan of my handwriting. My mother has the most gorgeous penmanship I’ve ever seen, and my writing is more of a chicken scratch. I generally write in all capital letters so that people stand a chance!
3. What Would Your Superpower be if you could choose one?
It’s a tie for me. I’d love to be able to fly, so that I could get anywhere in an instant, and have a zero carbon footprint when I travel. But I’d also love it if I never had to sleep. Can you imagine what could be done if you could use all 24 hours in every day!?
4. Are you an Optimist or Pessimist?
I am an eternal optimist. So much so that I get incredibly worked up over injustice and inequality. I believe in the good in people and the world. And I really believe that if our youth mobilize to be a force of equality, and a contingency of caring souls, we can truly change the world. I know that is incredibly optimistic, but I believe it down to the core of my being.
5 What do you collect?
I collect vintage cameras. I have a few that are incredibly old, and so beautiful. They’re both a nod to my family and to the beauty & panache of Old Hollywood. Movie magic, the inspiration I find in photographs, it all begins with a camera.
First of all, I’m sorry about the lack of updates. I have been getting a new computer, so everything is transferring and currently I don’t seem to have my accounts active, so that’s why the delay with the recent pictures of Sophia. Still I have a bunch of candids to add as well, but mainly Fashion Week photos I just came across, each album has above 20-30 images and here are the previews:
While the lights of Broadway prepare to dim on Sunday for Hurricane Irene, the lights on the set of The CW’s One Tree Hill have already gone dark. The show, which shoots in Wilmington, N.C., has shut down production for Friday and Saturday. Star Sophia Bush tweeted late Thursday, “OTH production has been canceled for tomorrow. All our fans in town, please stay inside! We will not be filming. Stay safe #HurricaneIrene.” Costar Austin Nichols also announced the news to fans: “Shutting down production tomorrow. Can’t wait to dance with this large woman called Irene.” In a statement, a rep for the show says, “As a precautionary measure and in consideration of our cast and crew, One Tree Hill production has shut down for today and tomorrow due to Hurricane Irene. We will continue to monitor the situation over the next few days.”
Sophia Bush, the cute brunette actress best known for her role as Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill, enters into British rom-com territory in the upcoming release Chalet Girl. She plays Chloe, the long-time American girlfriend of Ed Westwick’s character Jonny, who joins him on a family trip to the Alps where they own a chalet. While Sophia’s role isn’t huge, her relationship with Jonny is affected once he meets Kim (Felicity Jones). Check out our online exclusive clip where Sophia explains why she had to have a role in Chalet Girl.
Added some recent photos of Sophia attending the VH1 Do Something Awards last night. She looks so stunning in blue! I love the shots, make sure to check them out:
Sophia Bush has designed a limited edition bobble, the reusable water bottle that filters water as you drink, to raise proceeds in aid of The Nature Conservancy.
Sophia took part in the San Francisco Marathon in July and raised an impressive $50,000 through Crowdrise to support TNC, which aims to protect the lands and waters that plants, animals and natural communities need to survive. These limited edition bobbles are still available for purchase on www.waterbobble.com and 50% of purchases go to TNC.
Sophia Bush succeeded in her fund raising for the Nature Conservancy at the San Francisco Marathon today. She finished her 5k run in 31:38 minutes – congratulations, Sophia! The “One Tree Hill” actress has been on a campaign to help the Nature Conservancy for the past few months now and achieved her goal of raising $50,000.
As of today, she has helped raise over $50,351! Sophia also happened to autograph a Zooey copy for one of her fans at the marathon today!
What’s in Sophia Bush‘s fridge? “Right now nothing!” the “One Tree Hill” star says. Bush, who is currently living in North Carolina, is well-known as an animal rights activist and environmentalist within the Hollywood sphere and says that she tries to ensure the food she eats comes from local farms where animals are raised and treated humanely.
“There are a couple of farms here in North Carolina that I like,” she says. “And you know the farmers, and know that the animals weren’t living in cages and that they were treated humanely.”
Still, the star says that when she gets busy, she tends to eat out a lot and that instead of home cooking, her fridge is often stocked with to-go boxes.
When the actress is at home, here are three foods she can’t live without:
1. Oatmeal. Bush says she tries to keep a lot of healthy, whole grains in the house, including oatmeal. And why not? Oatmeal is nutritious, versatile and makes for a satisfying breakfast (not to mention it’s a superfood for better sex)! What’s not to like?
2. Brown rice. This whole grain is another smart choice. A half cup of brown rice has almost 2 grams of fiber, while its counterpart, white rice, has none. And not only can you cook brown rice with basically anything, but it’s full of manganese — which is an anti-aging property — and antioxidants.
3. Kilwin’s ice cream. Ok, so the ice cream itself isn’t really that healthy. But it is healthy to indulge once in a while. “When I’m in North Carolina, I can’t get enough of it,” Bush says. “I’m like a bloodhound; I can pick up the scent a mile away.” It’s all about balance — it is important to maintain a healthy diet of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, but it’s also important to enjoy yourself once in a while, and sometimes that means letting yourself give in to your cravings — whatever they may be.
If you had asked Sophia Bush one year ago today if she thought she’d ever run a marathon, she’d probably tell you no. “I’ve had asthma all my life,” she says. “When I first started training for this, I hadn’t run a mile since junior high.” But this weekend the One Tree Hill star is running the San Francisco Marathon. Get the tips that took her from asthmatic non-runner to marathon-racer.
Added the missing photos to the set of Charles Bush photoshoot from 2009 of Sophia. Those photos I featured in the new layout as you see. I believe this is the most gorgeous one she has done.
